E.B. Frey's Grist Mill of 1909 was built by John Gross in the 1840's on the site of an earlier grist and saw mill from 1770's, built by Jacob Hahn. Hahn means "rabbit" in Pennsylvania Dutch dialect.
This historic grist mill is on a beautiful 1.8 acre lot country lot in Upper Milford Twp. Still existing is the 27 foot Fitz wheel, restored cats head and 12x12 chestnut beams.
The penstock from the headrac running along the sidehill. The interior offers 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, 3/4 in. oak wood flooring, 3/4 in. pine ceilings and plenty of old charm left untouched. The mill has been sold in 2006 and is now a private residence.
The 55'X 70' 3.5 story mill was completely renovated in 2004-05 for residential purposes. *UPDATE: Vera Cruz Mill is being renovated by a speculator for a residence. Patrick Smith 01/30/04* GPS: 40' 30.87N, 75' 30.19W 492'/150 meters Allentown West Quadrangle
