Fetteroff Mill
From Berrysburg, take Pa 225 North about 0.2 miles to Shippen Dam Rd. on the left, turn left and go about 3.5 miles to Diebler Gap Rd. Go about 0.7 miles to the top of the mountain. Stay to the right on Diebler Gap Rd./T 474, and go down the other side of the mountain for 1.1 mi. to the mill on the left.
The mill, 2,5 story frame on 1 story stone, measures about 35'X 50' in size.
The date 189_?, either 1890 or 1898 is scratched onto the foundation stone at the front left corner of the mill.
On an old atlas, a Fetteroff family owned the farm property across the road from the mill, barely visible through the trees on the photo.
The open slot in the stone wall is either the channel for the headrace to the mill, or part of the wheel pit. The hub sticking out of the mill may have had an exterior waterwheel attached.
