One block west of SR 14 on the southwest edge of Elgin. North on SR 14, turn left on Elm St., after i block, the mill is at Elm's junction with Myrtle St.

Built in 1908 as a flour mill powered by steam.
The scale manufactured by Howe outside the closed Elgin Mill for weighing trucks across Elm St. on the large scale in the photo below.
Large truck scale for weighing empty, then full trucks or visa-versa to determine the net weight of feed or grain, whatever were the contents of the truck.

Flour production ended in 1954, but it continued to operate as a feed mill through 1994 and possibly some time beyond. In 2004, however, the mill was idle.
