Drive south of Fawn Grove, Pa on Fawn Grove Road, cross the state line and cross Sh 136 after 1.5 miles. Continue south on Fawn Grove Road to the junction with Red Bridge Road on the left and Eden Mill Road to the right. Turn right and the Eden Mill Nature Center/Eden Mill will be on the right before crossing Big Branch Creek where it joins Deer Creek.
The first mill was built here c. 1805 by the Stansbury family and named for a local priest, Father Eden.
In the late 1800's the mill changed hands, coming under the ownership of Van Sant & Martseller. They ran the mill until it was purchased by Frank Wolfe in 1905.
By this time there was also a saw mill operating as well as a grist mill. Three years later, the steam mill in use caused sparks that resulted in the detruction of the milling complex.
Eden Mill Model
A run of stones. The runner stone has been lifted by the stone crane off the nether stone in order to sharpen the lands and grooves of the millstones. The mill was sold to Marshall Stokes in 1910; and, he ran the mill through 1917. Not known if he bought a rebuilt mill, or if he rebuilt it after purchasing the property.

The generators that were used when the mill had become a power plant, are probably still used to produce the power to run the mill today, when it operates.
The Stansbury Mansion. The mill operated again from about 1927 through 1964, having been converted from stone grinding to roller mill operation by James T. Smith. He converted the mill to a 50 barrel/day mill. Several of the attached storage building were added during this time.
Smith died in 1964, and the mill was aquired by the Harford County Department of Parks & Recreation. It is today, Eden Mill Nature Center & Park.
