Don Don Mill
Don Don River Mill Lodge is approximately 16Km straight east from Hobhouse, which is situated on the R26. The mill is on the banks of the Caledon River which is the border between South Africa and the Mountain Kingdom of Lesotho.

The Mill was build in c. 1865 and houses the original maise and wheat, Swedish milling equipment which is still in working condition. The old mill and the miller's hut have been created into accommodation, which is on the banks of the Caledon River which is the border between South Africa and the Mountain Kingdom of Lesotho.
The dam on the Caledon River, just several hundred yards upstream of the mill. On the farm, one can actually take a moment to visit other old stone buildings such as the old fort, the miller's hut, the and stables.

The mill showing the place where the waterwheel used to be attached. Don Don River Mill Lodge, build from sandstone, is situated on the banks of the Caledon River overlooking the Lesotho mountains. The riverbanks, veld and poplar forest are home to many bird species. We offer fishing along the river, which is home to many fish types such as barbel, carp and yellow fish among others. We offer accommodation which overlooks dense poplar forest and the mountains, with the Caledon flowing only meters away.

On the farm, one can surely take a moment to visit buildings such as the old fort and stables. Bushmen painting are also to be seen as one strolls through the forest and along the river bank.
