Peter Wealand had a frame grist mill in 1750 which was replaced in 1787 with a 2.5 story, 36'X 48' stone/frame mill by Jacob Erb. John Erb received the mill from his father, John Sr who was also Jacob's brother, after John Sr had bought the mill in 1820 from Isaac Erb, an heir of Jacob, who held the mill from 1817-18. John improved the mill by adding the frame saw mill on the left side in 1841. *Update: (sp)Wealand instead of Wiland. Melanie Onushko 02/22/2010*

Another addition occurred in 1871 when Michael Eberly added another story to make the mill 3.5 stories high. Some selling back and forth occurred with many mills through the years and this one was no exception. In 1864 and again in 1875, the owner was, according to records, Christian Wissler. Michael Eberlys building of the 3rd story is sandwiched between these dates. Ben Wissler owned and operated the mill by 1899. The mill closed in 1938 with Hiram S. Eberly the owner/operator. The building had been renovated inwardly by 1992 and was in great condition, serving as an office structure.
