The 40'X 50' 3.5 story stone/plastered mill, except for quions at the corners, served as a flour, grist, and saw mill using 2 overshot wheels(internal) to produce 10 barrels/day of flour. An earlier stone mill was built in 1745 by William Haslet and operated by him until 1760. Henry Weaver sold the mill in 1763 to Jacob Light(Lichty). Peter Lichty sold to Francis & Abraham Mengle in 1809. V. Shirk Hoffman owned the mill from 1812-1824, then Isaac Weaver, Levi M. Groff in 1855, David G. Swartz in 1859, and George Ammon early in 1864.

Later, in 1864, David Stauffer & David Martin bought the old mill and built the present mill in 1868. Five years later, James DeHare & John H. Dolby aquired the property, including the mill, and in 1876, Dolby sold out to DeHare. Samuel W. Martin was in charge by 1898, then Martin M. Lichty in 1917.

The mill was a chicken house in 1969, and used for storage in 1995, but still in the Lichty ownership as well as the operating farmstead. *Update: The Caenarvon Mill was torn down sometime in 2006. Kevin Musser 12/04/2007 & Robert T. Kinsey*
