The mill was built c. 1862 by Henry Brockerhoff. All equipment has been removed. Records are not clear about the mill's construction.
A man by the name of Daniel Turner owned 300 acres which probably included the Brockerhoff mill site. Turner built a forge, saw mill, and grist mill in 1795.
Thomas Billington purchased the mills c. 1801 and operated the complex for several years. Jacob Roop bought the property in 1840. He already owned a brewery and clover mill, on land next to the Brockerhoff site. He sold everything in 1844 to Joshua & Michael Fishburn.
About 100 acres, containing the mills, was sold at Sherriff's sale in 1847, to Henry Brockerhoff. Brockerhoff was assessed for a mill, grist mill and saw mill in 1848. So, the Brockerhoff mill may have been built earlier than 1862.
Brockerhoff died in 1878; however, his sons continued the milling business. At that time the mill housed four run of stone with a daily capacity of 70 barrels of flour.GPS: 40D 54.04'N, 77D 47.93'W ele. 774'/236 meters Bellefonte Quadrangle
