Bourbon Roller Mill
Exit off I-44 onto Sh N at Bourbon, Missouri. follow Sh N (N. Pine St.) several blocks and veer to the right before crossing St. Louis-San Fransico RR tracks. The mill is on Pine near Cedar St.
The original mill was built around the late 1800's of frame construction, but was burned by the KKK in the late 1930's. The replacement mill was built of concrete so as to make it more fire-resistant. Interesting barnyard animals with barn context painted on the left side of mill.
Four large silos are attached to the north end of the mill and are covered with a one piece roof.
Flour milling ceased about 1948-50 and the mill converted to grinding livestock feed as a feed mill.
The interior of the current feed mill. A modern mixer visible left rear of picture. Some clarification of dates and info would be appreciated by some the owner or workers of the mill if they happen to see this info.
The description of this mill was "not photogenic". Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, as it was quite impressive and interesting to this photographer.
