Bittner Mill
From I-78 at New Smithville, go north on SR 863/Golden Key Road about 1 mile to Lyon Valley Road on the right. Turn right and go about 1.2 mile to Moyer Court, a gravel road on the left. Turn left and go about 0.3 mile to the mill at the creek.
The address is about 3400 Moyer Court, New Tripoli.
Not much history is know. Please anyone with some knowledge of this mill please share the info with this site.
The mill presents its rear exposure to the searcher as they approach across the bridge over the trib. to Lyon Creek.
The miller's house looks to maybe have been a possible mill itself at one time.
This hole in the foundation, filled in with framework and window, was no-doubtedly the inlet arch/opening for the headrace.
The mill is on a tributary of Lyon Creek.
One of the stone sets in the mill, with the netherstone in place. The lower stone turned with the power, while the runner/upper stone was stationary.
The two runner stones of the two runs of stone that this mill utilized, are leaned against the far wall.

Probably a Eureka corn grinder manufactured in Silver Creek, NY.
A grain hopper extended from the overhead floor. A larger bin would have been on the upper floor as part of this hopper.
The catshead on the upper conice of the front peak, used to haul sacks of corn and grain to various floors of the mill, using the mills power produced by the water.
