Birdwell Mill/Meadow Creek Mill
The address is 289 Birdwell Mill Road, Greenville, TN. From Grenville, go south on Sr 70 for 8 miles. Turn right/west on Allen Bridge Road/Meadow Creek Road and go about 0.3 miles, crossing the bridge over the Nolichucky River. Take the first road on the left, S Allens Bridge Road, less than 0.1 miles, then in a short distance, turn right onto Birdwell Mill Road. Go down the hill and the mill will be on the left at the bottom by the bridge over Meadow Creek.

The present mill was built c. 1890 by a man named Woods.
In Nov. of 2013 the owner of the mill was John Birdwell.
John's father purchased the mill from Woods in 1932. John's grandfather was the miller. John remembers helping out and playing at the mill when he was a little boy.
Possible mounting bracket for the external waterwheel.
John Birdwell, the present owner, said the mill closed after WW II, when his father sold all the metal in the mill.

John said stones were used to make corn meal and rollers were used to make flour. In 2013 the mill is used for storage.
