From Pa 272 southeast of Denver Boro., Lancaster Co. Pa., travel west on Pa 272, turnng right /north on Denver Rd / W. Church Rd. W. Church Rd. becomes Main St. Pass by Snyder St to the right, cross over L. Cocalico Creek, and when Weaver Rd. angles onto Main St. from the left, the mill is on the right side of Main St.
The 40'X 45' mills original height was shortened by Samuel Gung (Gring) in 1850 after a damaging fire.
The mill closed in 1924 and in 1995, was in excellent condition, being used as a dwelling with a built in 2-car garage. One of the last owners was Harvey Shimp
Kellers were owners in the late 1700's and then again in the late 1800's.
The mill was built by Michael Bear sometime before 1769. It was passed on to Michael Bear Jr.
