Anthony's Feed Mill /Seyfert's Grist Mill
Travel 0.4 miles south of Strausstown on Pa 183 to Mill Road. Mill is on the right.
A fairly modern milling complex that incorporates the older sections of the mill into its operation. The original portion is 2 story black stone with 2 stories of brick on top. The 35'X 50' old mill has been added to over the years most tastefully in brick to make one impressive mill structure.
Some of the new additions to the milling complex. Not much is know about the milling history, so some info would be welcomed. The mill was operating in 1999, but in 2005, the mill sign had been taken off the front, and there was no sign of milling activity.
Thhe dam behind the mill. The mill is actually 3 stories stone including a section of addition, with one story brick above.
Alterations made in 1907 by William Anthony.
Built in 1849 by Joseph & Hannah Seyfert. The same couple built the slightly older stone mill built in 1840 east of Strausstown on Old Route 22 at Campsite Road.
