Ackerman's Mill / Wetzel Bros. Mill
About 3 miles south of Sh 512 in Bangor along Sh 191 in Ackermanville at Waltz Creek.
The mill as it is situated on a slight rise next to Sh 191 between T 680, behind and to the right of the photographer, and Old Mill Road, just past the mill branching off to the left.
The mill is easy to miss in the summer, as it covered over with vines and in thick tree shade.
The tailrace coming out from the mills east foundation along the roadside of Sh 191 in Ackermanville.
I am the new owner of this mill. I have done a lot of work, but still a long way to go. It's roots date to the late 1700's. The original mill burned twice. Once about 1810 and again in 1899. The date of this structure is unknown at this point. It was brought to this site from Greenville Pa. in early 1900's.
The front of the mill, or the business side with the sack hoist and vertical arrangement of doors, actually faces the miller's house, too far out of view for a photo from the road. This photo taken from Old Mill Road.
The miller's house is just to right behind dense foliage. Need some historical info about the dates and operating years, names, etc.
