Victoria Roller Mill
Located at the intersection of Tidewater and W. First Streets in Victoria, Va.
The 2.5 story frame mill was built in 1916, first operating by diesel power and later converting to electric power when such became available. *Update: The mill was operated by two Fairbanks YH diesel engines, a 1916 25hp engine and a 1920 20hp one. Adam Haynes 06/19/2009*
The photo shows 3 stands of Salem roller-process mills, evidently installed when the mill was built, as the roller process revolution began in the 1880's. Most mills built after that date would have been roller process rather than millstone process.
