This powerhouse was built upon the site of the former Blackburn-Furry Mill, shortly after the latter's shut down in 1928. The power plant was built by the Iowa-Nebraska Light and Power Company. According to the former operator, Mervin Adams, it had a capacity of 120 kilovolt-amperes. The power plant operated until 1956.I hope this information is useful to you.
