The 2.5 story, 35'X 70' rubble stone and frame structure housed both a grist mill and a saw mill within its confines.
Operated as a grist mill by Darlington Pyle in the mid-1800's. Later operated by Edwin Gilbert & son, Jesse, as a cider & feed mill. GPS: 39' 50.44'N, 75' 49.3'W ele. 410 feet'/125 meters West Grove Quadrangle
The saw mill portion is probably along the long rear length, under the frame overhang, more or less semi-open to the elements but still covered from direct exposure.
The miller's house sits to the right of the mill about 150 yds. back from the road. It is a 2.5 story building with about 5-6 bays.
Some old pulleys & line shafts still remain from milling days, but the mill has been mostly renovated into apartments. More information is requested concerning its milling history.
