Garvine's Mill / Anderson Mill / Rock Run Mill
Travel north from Fawn Grove on Pa. 425/Market St/Woodbine Rd. for 4 miles to Garvine's Mill Rd. The mill is on Pa. 425 ajacent to Mt. Olivet Church Rd.
The 35'X 45' mill has one story and foundation of fieldstone and 2.5 stories of wood framing.
The mill was powered by the overshot wheel to grind cornmeal.
The mill race came off Bald Eagle Creek upstream to the left of the mill as pictured.
Garvine Mill's miller's house.
The mill was built by Anderson sometime between 1800 and 1830. *Update: It burnt down in the late 1800's and was rebuilt from the foundation up in the years 1899 & 1900. The original wheel on the mill was wooden and was replaced when the mill was rebuilt. My Great-grandfather owned this mill for years, it is now owned by my uncle Gene Badders, since the 1970's. The mill was later used as a cider mill and is in good condition today. It is being restored from the foundation/first story upward.
The mill just off Pa 425, downhill on Garvine's Mill Rd. The miller's house is beyond the mill on the north side of the road across Bald Eagle Cr.
