Chandler's Mill, at 10985 Cr 45, Centre, Alabama, is restored from the old orginal 1860 mill. The mill contains the original turbine plus an added 45 ft water wheel. I built a mill cabin for the gristmill stones and dug out a mile long millrace from orginal plans. The mill has all orginal equipment from the old mill that was built in 1860. I started on this in 2005 and am still working on it. Jerry Don Dempsey Spring Creek originates in Georgia, in Polk Co., Southeast of Haney. It picks up Lumpkin Mill Creek soon after entering Alabama. Caney Creek feeds the mill, then joins Spring Creek prior to entering Weiss Lake, north of Centre, Al. Once in Weiss Lake, it becomes a part of the Coosa River system. 05/10/2010GPS: 34D 7.58'N, 85D 29.96'W ele 594'/181 meters Melson Quadrangle
