Austin L. Brandt purchased a church building in 1937.

He remodeled the building, installing a full line of flour and feed equipment using diesel power.

An old brick schoolhouse was also purchased and used as a warehouse, but later sold. James Brandt operated the mill for many years.

As the business grew, so did the need for a larger mill. The old church building was torn down and the present building constructed, probably in the 1960's-70's. An old grindstone used in the older mill.
