The area of the mill and miller's house, built in 1783 as the dwelling for the mill operator, is also part of a Berks County park that includes the Allegheny Acqueduct. The acqueduct was built to transport canal boats over the Allegheny Creek on the Schuylkill Navigation Company's canal, built in 1824 by Ephriam Beech.
