From Tipton, south of US 222, go east on E. Weis St./Main St. toward Mertztown. Turn right on Park Ave. in the community of Hancock and follow to Longsdale Road. Turn right and look for the mill by the Little Lehigh Creek just past the Home Road junction.

The Long/Hawerter Grist Mill was built around 1800 by Jacob Long.

The mill is easy to see from the road. A small 2.5 story, 30'X 40' fieldstone structure with a 20'X 25' 2 story frame addition or close standing structure.

The miller's house sits across the gravel lane from the mill complex that was comprised of a barn, brewery, grist mill, & a farmhouse.
