Situated in a pleasing setting, this four story mill of stone, brick and clapboard replaced an earlier mill that burned in 1912. Rebuilt in 1912 by O.S.Stahl who manufactured "White Blossom Flour" in addition to grinding grain for farmers of the area.

The water wheel in the photo has been added to the Powder Valley Mill just for show. The shaft through the wall, above the deck by the sunshade umbrella, is probably where the original water wheel was located.

The dam upstream immediately above the mill. The mill headrace, no longer in existance, branched off just behind the dam on the left, several hundred yards upstream.

The operation was sold to Elmer G. Stahl in 1935, then sold to Harleysville Mills, Inc. by 1946. Wilber Schultz, an employee of Harleysville Mills ran the enterprise from 1949-1967 when it closed its doors. The former mill was converted into a dwelling in the 1950's.

The earlier mill was known as Yeakel Mill or Pedrick Mill depending on who owned it at the time. Early companions to the first mill were an ice house operation and a nearby saw mill.
