The 30'X 60' 2.5 story brick woolen mill was probably built in the last several decades of the 1800's. It is known that in 1937, L.W. Brumbaugh had a venetian blind business in the Old Bennett Mill.

Several years later, he had a frozen food locker at the same location. There was a grist mill reportedly to have been located behind the woolen mill closer to the river earlier.

The lady owner of the mill provided the photographer, Mr. Kinsey, with this photo and some typed information that is presented here. The building in the foreground is the old tollgate house, no longer there, with the woolen mill just visible to the left of the tollgate house to the left of center of the photo.

West Milton only came into existance as a town in the late 1800's. Today, the old mill is known as the "Old Red Barn" antiques store. *GPS: 84-19.41W, 39-57.11N*
