An old 35'X 48' sandstone/limestone 2 story structure with a 2 story frame structure added to the stone. The earliest mill was built in 1727 by Matthew Henderson. The current mill was built either in 1730 but most pobably in 1748 by Abram Hess. It passed to John Grove from 1760-1786, Henry Grove from 1787-1794, Abram Shock from 1795-1821, then a party named Huber in 1824.

The year 1864 saw Abram Shock as owner again. Records indicate a D. Albright owned and paid taxes on two mills in 1875 thru 1899. Another late owner was D.A. Fackler. The flour and grist mill, powered by 1 overshot wheel fed from the 6' dam 1000' upstream on Shock's Run and producing about 8 barrels of flour/day, closed operations in 1933. Evidence of rebuilding is apparent in the stone types used. The mill was probably 3.5 story completely stone originally, the rebuilt to the partial frame, full 4 stories of the present mill structure.
