The mill ruins were of a smaller 25'X 40', 3-3.5 story stone/stucco mill along the East Branch Perkiomen Creek.

Millstones were driven by power channeled through a turbine using water from the creek. The ruins have since been incorporated into a private residence, possible in the late 1990's/early 2000's.

The steel bridge over the E. Br. of the Perkiomen was built in 1890 and is one of the last double steel arches still in use in Montgomery County.

Sketch - - Gordon Callison

A sketch done by Gordon Callison, of the former website www.artbygordy.com. The scene depicts the mill from the south side, the opposite side from the road, with the bridge behind. The saw mill was situated on the south/rear side of the mill.

This picture was taken some time sometime during 1968. The mill was reported to have burned down in the early 1980's, maybe a year or two before the two 1983 photos were taken, and was later purchased, restored and now in the possession of private owners. The saw mill was attached along the back and to the right of the mill in this photo.

The sign for the Lower Salford Township Park, of which the Bergey Mill Farmstead, the house, barn, and other outbuilding are a part. The mill itself, across the road, has been renovated as a private dwelling and is not part of the park, but viewable from the road and the bridge.

The two-arch steel bridge across the East Branch of the Perkiomen Creek. The mill is to the left before the bridge and the Bergey Mill Farmstead is to the right. The bridge may not be open for vehicle traffic anymore!

The Bergey Mill Farmstead miller's house. The wooden box in front of the porch is a covered well. The hand crank on the box winds up a bucket from the well and a drink may be obtained.
