The Knabb-Bieber Mill in Oley Township, Berks Co. was built in 1809 and operated into the 1980's. John Knabb died sometime prior to 1957, but 83 year old Effinger Bieber was still operating the mill in 1981. The mill, a 3.5 story 40'X 60' sandstone/limestone structure, is architecturally of Georgian design.

The raceway inlet bar screen is visible here just prior to the waters of Monocacy Creek entering the mill to power the equipment.

A retake of the second photo 15 years later. It is one of the most attractive, best kept mills in Berks County.
