The El Reno Mill & Elevator Co. was built in 1917,although the company was organized in 1892. In 1929, General Mills Inc. of Minneapolis bought the complex and flour continued to be milled into 1962.

The photo shows the complex, already part of General Mills but with a subname of Pennwright Grain Co. as it existed in 1945. Almost all the structures of the older parts of the mill are now gone in 2004, but the mill offices/scale house to the left of center just over the right side of the old mill section is still part of El Reno Mill & Elevator and is now the offices shown below.
