Issaqueena Corn Mill / Central Riller Mills

This mill is located at 228 Lawton Road, near the town of Central, which is a few miles southwest of Pickens. From Central, take Sr 93 toward Liberty. Go about 1 mile and look for an overhead RR bridge on the left. Turn left, cross the bridge, and turn right. When the road bends left, keep straight into Collins Old Town.

It is not jknown if this building was original as the Central Roller Mills or if it had been customized from an old barn to house the corn milling process that produced Issaqueena Corn Meal.

This corn meal grinder is run by a single cylinder Maynard gasoline engine.

The sack used to contain the corn meal ground by the above corn grinder. This operation is done in a smaller, cleaner building from the main mill structure.

A molassas/sorghum cooking structure used to cook down the cane syrup/raw sorghum syrup to get rid of the excess water. This thickening produces a more concentrated product.
