Verse for Thought
Blessed quietness! Holy quietness! What assurance in my soul! On the stormy sea Jesus speaks to me, And the billows cease to roll. "Blessed Quietness" by Maine Payne Ferguson 1850>??

Photos submitted by Gordon Callison. Established in 1849-1850, the Ulverton Woollen Mill, the last active one in Quebec, is powered by a turbine. Located in one of the most picturesque and heritage laden villiages in Quebec, the original Blanchette Mill is still operational.

The restored mill, in 1982, was placed on the Quebec's Ministry of Cultural Affairs list of historic monuments in 1977. It is the largest textile interpretive center in Canada; the machinery displayed is functional and most are over one-hundred years old, many the original equipment. The new interpretive idea for the mill is to let visitors see and experience crafts and wool processing methods of the mid-1800's. Hence an idea of identity with their forefathers and how they lived and developed as a people.GPS: 45' 41' 26.54" N, 72' 16' 10.33" W
