An old four story mill just south of the village of Locksley.

This mill happened to be the 200th mill entered into the data base for this web site. The proximity to Creek Road can be seen in the photo.

It was also known as A. Bakers Grist and Saw Mill, built in 1760.

The inlet forebay arch for the creek water can be seen here, although it appears the water hasn't been flowing with any great regularity for a while.

From the quality of the windows and chimney, it has probably been a dwelling, well maintained.

*Update: My family has called this mill home since 1966. My father Richard "Bud" Luckenbach purchased the property in 1962 when there was only 2 walls standing. He spent the next several years restoring it and making it his family home. My father was an accomplished stonemason and millwright. He owned and operated "18th Century Building" and restored many old farmhouses and historical buildings in the historic Southeast of Pennsylvania until he passed away in 1987. The Grist Mill's exact date is hard to say. According to tax records, there was mention of the building as far back as 1720 although my father claims to have found an early listing in an old ledger he found in the mill that dated back to 1701. The James Family owned an operated the Grist Mill for the majority of its existance. As far as I know, the mill had not been used as a business since the 1920s before my father purchased the building. Corry Luchenbach 03/032005*
