One report says the mill burned in 1895 and was replaced by Pusey with the present mill, grinding feed and flour. Later the mill was known as J. L. Pennock and Co., and then as Pennock and Brosius Excelsior Flour Mills.

There is a date stone in the west wall indicating that it may have been built in 1906 by Pennock and Brosius. This is the side of the mill that had the elevated walkway over to a large steel tank in some of the next photos.
