Mitchell's Mill
Take S. Main St/Salem Hwy/Sr 8 south from Stuart, Va. about 4 miles to Dry Pond Hwy/Sr 103. Turn right and continue for approximately 6 miles. The mill is located on the right at intersection of Old Orchard Loop/Sr 645 and Mitchell Mill Roads/Sr 647 in the vicinity of Claudville, Va.

The mill wheel, still grinding grain since the late 1800's,is powered by the waters of Browns Dan River. The Browns Dan River and Hooker Creek join together with Little Dan River to continue downstream as Little Dan River. From this point the River flows South to the NC/Va line and merge with the Big Dan River, which also has its head waters in Patrick County/Dan River District.
