Ingraham's Mill

The mill is located on Crystal Falls Rd. off of SR 64 in the town of Smithsburg. Between Cavetown Church Road and Shaller Lane on the east side of Crystal Falls Road.

The mill was built c. 1810. Edward Ingraham operated the mill during the Civil War.

The approximately 30' x 40' fieldstone mill was built to a height of 2.5 stories.

Ingraham had six daughters who owned the mill after his death. Tillman Williams operated the mill for the Ingrahams and later Allen C. Smith was the miller.

Upon the death of Rachel Ingraham, Smith purchased the mill. Later he sold it to his nephew, Wade Smith.

After a short time Wade sold it back to his uncle Allen. Upon Smith's death the mill was purchased by Lancelot Jacques.
