In 1943, Contee Lynn Adams, who ran a seed and feed business across the street, decided to concentrate solely on the cleaning of seed and moved his business into the Dillon building.

After Contee's death in 1960, the business was taken over by his son, Contee Lynn Adans, known as Lynn. Raising and selling Christmas trees during slack months was an expanded business by this time.
