"But for now, Lord God, you have shown great kindness to us. You have made us truly happy by letting some of us settle in this sacred place and by helping us in our time of slavery."

The first mill at this site in Hegins Valley was built in 1801 on Deep Creek.

This is the second mill built at the site. It later became a mill store when the last mill was built.

The last mill built is the large white complex in the center of the vintage postcard photo. It operated into the mid-1960's, then was torn down. The present mill is marked by the arrow.

The second mill/mill store is still standing, perhaps being converted into a dwelling. Deep Creek powered the first two mills, not sure about the third mill.
