Walter's Mill / Forwood's Mill / Greenspring Mill
Located in Harford Co. on Walters Mill Rd. on the west side of Rt 543/Ady Road just a little south of Ady & Mill Green. A couple miles north of Bel Air.
A 20th century mill, it converted to electricity in 1970's. Greenspring Mill was the name of the mill intermediate to Forwood's Mill and Walter's Mill.
Was the last operating commercial mill in the area until it closed in 1987.
This millstone from the mill is used as paver stone at the bottom of the entrance steps to the mill.

The mill still has an overshot waterwheel in the basement and was for sale in 1990. GPS: 76' 19.93W, 39' 37.18N
John & Samuel Forwood, from Delaware, erected a grist mill here about 1774. This same mill later passed through various owners until it was purchased by Charles S. Walters in 1911. The original mill burned about 1900, and the present frame mill rests on the original stone foundations of the 1774 mill.
