The mill, built about 1815, in a town formerly called Charlottes Town, then the name was changed to Monkton Mills. The mill is situated on one of the sites of two former Monkton mills c. 1745.

The brick mill, on about eight acres, consists of 2.5 stories of brick mill on a 1st story of stone, has been undergoing some renovation in the last several years. It is home to a antique business called Monkton Mill Antiques. The waterwheel is a 32' Fitz steel wheel installed in 1870. The mill was owned by first, by Rodney Fields parents since 1964, then by Rodney Fields and Karina Bay. It was known as Monkton Mill Antiques from 1964-2003.

*Update: Monkton Mill was sold about five years ago and is no longer owned by the gentleman who owns the Antique business. The new owner is Curtis Sherrer. The renovation project should be more complete in the next three months. Rona Bloom 07/15/2009*

The efforts at restoration/renovation look very well done. The mill will really shine once the work is completed and the area cleaned up, which by now has already happened.

The website is no longer accurate as far as owners go, but it does have some good mill information. More information would be appreciation from anyone with some knowledge of its history and operations. The name of the town was later changed to Monkton.
