Hogg Mill / Thamesford Flour Mill

Travel north from Exit 208 on Provincial Highway 401 on Middlesex Road 30/Putnam Road. At the stop sign in Putnam turn left, then after about 100 feet, turn right. Continue north on Middlesex Road 30 for 5.7km, it later becomes Oxford Road 45/17th Line. When you reach Oxford Road 119/19th Line, turn left and travel north for 1.6 km. The mill is easily visible from the stop sign at the west edge of the village of Thamesford.

This grist mill was built in 1900 to replace a mill that been destroyed by fire in 1898. The earlier mill had been built in 1847. The photo was taken form the west side of the bridge in Thamesford.

This is a photo on the main floor inside the original brick mill. The smaller farm store located in a newer addition, continued to operate up to 1997.

This photo was taken from the west side of the dam. The mill was a Shur-Gain Feed Mill since about the mid-1900's. Based on the calenders scattered throughout the mill, it ceased operating about 1979.
