An authentic replica mill of the type used in the Netherlands to grind grain toproduce flour.

The seven story mill (from the ground to the top cap) used to measure 68' from tip to tip of the opposing sail arms. Now two of the original four sail arms are broken off, making the mill inoperable.

The windmill, once a photogenic showplace and an operating windmill, was damaged when a severe windstorm gust snapped the arms. They haven't been able to find someone who knows how to fix it in the United States. Previous attempts at repair haven't been successful. Most of this information has been documented in the Star Ledger & Wierd NJ.

The barn and the house, circa 1710, are both in fine condition. The mill was built by the late Paul Jorgensen, and was a living museum to his memory when functional. There was even an admission charge before the mill was damaged in the windstorm. Now the sign merely states the sad fact that the museum is closed.
