Terrace Mill

Located between Alexandria off I-94 and Willmar on US 71 via Sh 29 and Sh 104. About 15 miles south of Alexandrie on SH 29 then about 12 miles to Terrace on Sh 104 to the mill at The E. Br. Chippewa River on the north side of Sh 104.

This is the only remaining flour mill out of nine originally in Pope County. The original mill was taken down and reassembled in Brooten, about 8 miles east on Sh 55, in 1895 to be on the railroad line. The present mill, built in 1903 to replace the 1895 mill, was converted into a woodworking mill for the manufacture of church furniture in 1950. Latitude: 45 30.66N, Longitude: 95 19.26W

Abandoned in 1967, now owned by the Terrace Mill Foundation, it under went restoration. Added to the NRHP in 1979. Tours of the mill are available during the summer months for a donation. Arts & Music Festivals occurr several times a summer, an annual Heritage Festival Art Show in mid-June and a Fall Festival & Fiddle Contest takes place in October.
