The mill is located on the south side of Pa 895 just west of the borough of Auburn, about 4 airmiles south & southeast of Orwigsburg & Schuylkill Haven respectively.

The 40'X 50' sandstone mill was built to a height of 3.5 stories by John & Catherine Fisher in 1821.

The date is engraved on a cornerstone with the name Catherine still legible.

In the late 19th or early 20th century, John M.Fahl bought the mill from a Fisher owner.

The millpond, fed by Bear Creek, in turn fed the double Fitz waterwheel thru a short penstock to a distribution box.

Some other owners were Howard, Ney, & Francis Phillips. Phillips ran the mill roughly for about 30 years, selling to Harold Grill in the mid 1950's.

The inside is mostly devoid of machinery, not-with-standing these belt pulleys on a lineshaft and a few other remnants.

The miller's house, lived in by the present owners Warren & Doris Malone since 1972. They have spent a considerable amount of time and money restoring the dam, the millrace, and the ongoing restoration of the mill itself.

The second story side door opposite the millrace/pond. The millrace is about a quarter mile long and about 15'-20' wide, widening even more, almost pond-like, near the mill.
