Opie's Grist Mill / Bridgepoint Mill
About 6.5 north of Princeton on US 206, turn right on Bridgepoint Road, go 1.5 miles, turn right on Dead Tree Run Road. Go about 0.34 miles to the mill at 43 Dead Tree Run Rd. on the right just before the three arch stone bridge over Pike Brook.

The first grist mill, built in 1721, was destroyed by fire about the end of the 18th century.
This current mill was built about 1800, using some sections salvaged from the old mill, most probably the stone foundations.
The miller's cottage, the 1.5 story part on the left was built in 1730 while the 2 story structure stems from 10 years later. *Update: My husband John Stahl rebuilt the mill with many hours of salvaging many of the original parts. Barbara Stahl 12/24/2008*

The three arch stone bridge over Pike Brook was built c. 1820 of random rubble stone and repaired in 2000.GPS: 40' 26.05'N, 74' 38.72'W ele. 59'/18 meters Trenton Quadrangle
The frame barn is situated to the left of the miller's house; although, it is probably not as old as the house. A corn crib/wagon shed is across the road from the barn and just east of of mill.
This photo puts everything into perspective. The dam is in great shape. The mill, the barn, and the miller's house are part of the Bridgepoint Historic District, an 18th & 19th century milling and farming community settled in the 1740's.
