Yates Mill
Take I 40/440 west from US 401/Sh 54 interchange about 2 miles south of Raleigh. Continue about a mile to Exit 297 (Lake Wheeler Road). Take Lake Wheeler Road/Sh 1375 south about 3.5 miles, crossing over Old Tryon Rd/Sh 1152 until the mill entrance on the right near the intersection of Lake Wheeler Rd/ Sh 1375 & Yates Mill Pond Rd/1381.

The mill is part of a 156 acre nature preserve/park that is Wake County's newest park, containing her last remaining grist mill out of about 70 in the early 1800's.
