The very nice brick, one-room schoolhouse was built in the 1870's. It served the needs of the children of the local community of Stormville until 1953.
The now restored schoolhouse contains books and atifacts, including photos of its history and of one-room schools in general. The motiff created is of the time period of 1880-1900.
The school name came about as it was the only school in the county, when built, to have a bell cupola. The school was restored and now maintained by the Monroe County Historical Association. Hours are 1-4 pm, Sundays in July and August. Donations are accepted and docents are available to provide information and answer questions during the hours open. Special hours and group tours available on request.GPS: 40.944973, -75.250195 509'/155 meters Saylorsburg Quadrangle
