Pictures by: Jim Miller Fall/1998 - This brick structure was built in 1849 and operated as a steam mill until electricity came into use, even though Maries Creek was only a few blocks to the east. Perhaps the creek didn't have sufficient flows and velocities to run the mill.

Pictures by: Jim Miller Fall/1998 - In the intervening years, electricity was added, flour production ceased, and the use turned to custom feed grinding and mixing. The mill is part of the MFA, or Missouri Farmers Association.

Pictures by: Jim Miller Fall/1998 - This complex of mill buildings are directly across Walnut St. and also on the other side of the tracks; even so, it is probably part of the same milling operation.
