The passageway between the brick warehouse and the frame office would allow teams and wagons to pass and stop under the front doors for loading and unloading of commodities.

Old lettering on the side of the warehouse states: definitely coal, lime; and possibly grain, timothy, and clover storage.

Broom corn included the husks and leaves of the dried field corn that would be made into household brooms.
